Anyone got a fairly realistic eye in AS they'd like to share? I'm actually looking more for the gradients around the iris (because, pretty obviously, I can do the white and iris quickly and easily). But without a whole lot of work I don't see an easy way to get that radial gradient look in AS.

Now -- it's going to be AS so obviously NOT photoreal in the strict sense. I'm just looking for something less cartoony than I can normally create.

Well, that would be great IF I had an AS file for it (lol).

That gradient is a good start -- did you make some kind of multi-star pattern for it? (Something hopefully easy :>).

https://www.mediafire.com/?ll1c7sk8hl48646 ... that's an AS10 version with the original animation and other stuff stripped out.

I used curve profile -- the iris is just 3 concentric circles each with a "spiky" profile.. did the original in AS 8.2 back in May-ish 2012 for "naked white silence".

Wow that is very well done. Can we change the color or is that fixed?

Hi and welcome...

first the bad news: that download is a V10 file, and I think I saw that you're on V9... it'll take a while for me to get to it, but I might still have the original V8 file somewhere, or it should be OK to convert back to V9 using V10's legacy save .. (unless someone wants to leap in a do this???)

Now the good news: you can play with colours / shapes / bloodshot lines ... as much as you like.

The core of the "iris" layer is just a set of concentric circles with "curve profile" to make the edges jaggy (the jags are in layer "edges" - which is a "don't render" layer...)

Just ask if you want to know more about this.

here's a V9 created using the V10 "save as V9" function .. http://www.mediafire.com/download/wf5d1yh1dwll6u6/eyev9.anme -- I don't have the legacy versions of AS on the (on the road) system I'm using right now or access to my archive (all those are back at base) -- so I hope you can open this... and enjoy playing with it. problems / questions: just ask

Thanks hayasidist, you did not have to do it that fast, there was no fire but I appreciate your efforts.

I will download and try it when I get home from work today and let you know if it works.

Again Thanks

you're welcome .. it took less time to download V10 / convert / upload V9 than it did to tell you I'd done it. Enjoy ... and if you find some amazing way of improving it, do please share!

I have a long way to go to improve on what you have here but you never know what will happen in the future.

Again Thanks

Paul,

Did you use V10 and just save as 9? I'm curious as to how that works (never tried it and at the moment don't have 9.x on my system to see how successful it would be).

yes I did... the file header shows the V9 file structure version (37) but the "created in moho .." shows the 10.1.x version I used
[the original V10 shows file structure version 46 and also the created in is, of course, V10]
